1270+ Years Preserved
Preserved for over 12 centuries without conservation

Perhaps the most extraordinary feature of this miracle is the fact that the relics have been preserved for over 1270 years without any artificial conservation.
Natural Preservation
Despite being over 1200 years old, the relics show no signs of decay. The flesh and blood have remained in a state that cannot be fully explained scientifically. No preservatives have ever been used or found.

Scientific Mysteries
The scientific investigations of 1970-1971 and 1981 confirmed that the tissue exhibits the properties of fresh tissue. The protein structure is intact, and the blood shows characteristics normally only found in fresh blood.
Preservation Through the Centuries
The relics were initially kept in the Church of San Legonziano and later transferred to the Church of San Francesco, where they are still displayed today in a special reliquary. Through wars, natural disasters, and the passage of time, they have remained intact.
